加灌 windows後 grub怎麼救

原本的硬碟有win2k debian
後來加灌 windows xp
所開機選單只剩 win2k win xp

於是我拿ubuntu9.04的live CD
想救回原來的選單 步驟如下

進terminal

sudo fdisk -l
:
/dev/sda1 ... HPFS/NTFS
/dev/sda2 ... HPFS/NTFS
/dev/sda3 ...
/dev/sda4 ...
/dev/sda5 ... Linux

sudo grub
grub>find /boot/grub/stage1
(hd0,5)
grub>root (hd0,5)
grub>setup (hd0)
Checking if “/boot/grub/stage1″ exists… yes
Checking if “/boot/grub/stage2″ exists… yes
Checking if “/boot/grub/e2fs_stage1_5″ exists… yes

Error 22: No such partition

怎麼辦

我只知道grub2的作法，不確定grub是否適用,
以下指令是進入live cd後以root身分執行：
mkdir /mnt/linux
mount /dev/sda1 /mnt/linux/ #假設你的linux分割區在/dev/sda1
mount /dev/sda2 /mnt/linux/boot/ #如果/boot不在/dev/sda1裡才需要這個動作。
mount --bind /dev/ /mnt/linux/dev
chroot /mnt/linux/
grub-install --recheck /dev/sda

完成上述指令之後重開機即可。

至少grub的選單有回來了

但還是有一些問題

grub好像沒找到新灌的win xp
回來的只是原來的選單
grub-install --recheck /dev/hda
找那麼久
不知道為什麼沒把正確的partition編號寫上去

手動修改後才找到Debian

fdisk -l 有看到partition的分配

沒有任何切割

請問有沒有像灌linux時會自動找到windows的方法
