升級成testing...

我用無痛起步法裡面
作者的sourcslist.list的設定:

deb http://http.us.debian.org/debian testing main contrib non-free
deb http://non-us.debian.org/debian-non-US testing/non-US main contrib non-free

然後下apt-get update
apt-get upgrade
apt-get dist-upgrade

升級完以後重開機
開機時只出現個 "LI" 就當在那裡
我post這篇文章並不是要找出錯在那裡
只是認為可能testing挑我的機器吧@@

那是因為 testing 的 lilo 設定改變的關係,
好像是 /boot 裡頭的 boot.b 名字改了, 變成了 boot-menu.b,
而 stable 安裝的舊 lilo 依當初 lilo.conf 去找 boot.b 會找不到
所以就會 hang 在 "LI" 出現的畫面。

用救援開機片或者光碟片開機, 重新安裝一次 lilo 就好了。

apt-get upgrade
apt-get dist-upgrade
升級成testing
還有什麼地方要注意的呢?

這種升級通常要自己做才清楚呢，畢竟testing/unstable的環境變化快，加上每個人的Debian環境不同，很難說到底要注意什麼。

至少先確定能開機再說摟。

LILO Error Codes

L<error code>
The first stage boot loader was loaded, but an error was encountered
while loading the second stage.

LI
The first stage boot loader was able to load the second stage boot
loader, but has failed to execute it. This can be caused either by a
geometry mismatch or by moving /boot/boot.b without running the map installer.

LIL
The second stage boot loader has been started, but it can't load the
descriptor table from the map file. This is typically caused by a media
failure or by a geometry mismatch.

LIL?
The second stage boot loader has loaded at an incorrect
address. This is typically caused by a subtle geometry mismatch or by
moving /boot/boot.b without running the map installer.

LIL-
The descriptor table is corrupt. This can be caused either by a
geometry mismatch or moving /boot/map without running the map installer.

LILO
LILO was loaded successfully.
