[問題]How to display file names in various colors?

Hello!

Please pardon me for typing in English as I have not installed xcin yet. I am using Opera Linux which displays BIG5.

My bash in Slackware displays colorful file names. Examples are: executable->green color, *.tgz->red color.

I have just switched from Slackware to woody. Bash in Debian gives me only black/white file names. How do I make my bash in Debian display file names in approrpriate colors?
