Mplayer problem on woody

Dear All:

I have just installed the Mplayer on Woody .

It work but got the following problem :

1. When I start Mplayer , it keep on prompt me:

New_Face failed. maybe the fonrt path is wrong.
Please supply the text font file (~.mplayer/subfont.ttf).

2. The DVD video played behind the audio. (i.e. the audio was faster than vidio.) Both was not in sync.

I am runnning PIII with 1.3G CPU with SIS 6326 display card

What is the problem , any solution ?

Where can I find informtion to config mplayer ?

1:try to link your truetype font to the ~/.mplayer/subfont.ttf

2:hmm....sounds strange...
I think there are some ways for you to figure out what the real problem is.

1:you may try to use hdparm to speed up your dvdrom
2: try to use the parameter -vo xv(xvideo) or -vo sdl with mplayer.

I hope this can help...

I did solve my problem by :

1. select a font at Mplayer preference setting

2. Add the parameter -framedrop
