Debian 無痛起步 - xcin not work

Dear All:

I follow Debian 無痛起步法 to config xcin :
--------------------------------------
edit .xinitrc and add the following :

export XMOFICIERS="@im=xcin"
xcin&
------------------------------------

But it does not work . the xcin can be started but can not work on Desktop application.

However , it work on rxvt chinese terminal. i.e. I can input chinese via xcin into the rxvt terminal. But xcin did not work for Xwindows application.

I have set locale to "zh_TW.Big5"

I am running GDM , the Gnome is starting with Chinese .

It means my locale is correctly set to zh_TW.Big5.

What is the problem ?

Any help .

1. only Message on this news 是打錯了, but the config 不是打錯, it was :

export XMODIFIERS="@im=xcin"

2. Open a gnome-terminal and type "xcin &".

export LC_ALL=zh_TW.Big5
export XMODIFIERS="@im=xcin"
xcin &

I did it but still not work.

I am running GDM to start the Xwindows which was the default setting on Woody .

Will it affect the .xinitrc ? i.e. .xinitrc not run on start up.

gdm有個gdmsetup可設定..
有language選項..

gdm 的話好像不會讀 .xinitrc, 你有試過用 startx 嗎?
PS: 記得在 .xinitrc 裡加上你的 window manager.

可以把 .xinitrc 連結到 .xsession
然後 gdm 裡面選 debian 就可以了
