ipw2100 無線網路安裝問題

請問大家這ipw2100該如何安裝？
我有參考了站上的的文章，

但我在第一個安裝步驟（hostap）就過不去了，
進去目錄之後下 #make 就有一堆的錯誤訊息，
訊息量頗大不知該怎麼po，

有試過 0.1.3 版本的 hostap-driver 嗎？ 之前我是用該版本裝起來的

我是用debian testing + ipw2100 0.53 這可以成功(kernel 2.6.7)
make
make install
記得還要抓一個東西放在....官網有~

我是訪客(上)，以下步驟是在 Fedora Core 2 (2.6.5 kernel) 環境。 若要在 2.4 kernel 環境，還要去 ipw2100.sf.net 找修補檔 (因為該驅動程式有用到 2.6 核心才有的函式)， 才能在 2.4 核心環境編譯成功。

1. ¨ /usr/src 做一個名為 linux 的 symbolic link 連到 kernel source 所在目錄
2. 這樣子一來編 hostap 時只要 make ; make install 即可。
3. 接著把 ipw2100-0.46_3.tgz 解開，
make HOSTAP=/path/to/hostap-driver-0.1.3 ; make install 即可。

剛剛試了一下,
步驟1.沒問題,一樣在步驟2.的make就卡住了,錯誤訊息如第一篇
我的kernel版本是2.6.8

如果你用 kernel 2.6.8
Debian 也是用 sarge(testing) 的 stage 的話
那就跟我一樣的環境，我的昨天才弄起來，可以正常使用 ipw2100

但是呢，我沒有去裝 hostap 呢
應該說，照著官方 ipw2100 的 INSTALL 檔的內容來做的話
是不需要安裝 hostap 的。

有幾點要注意一下：
1. 有分成兩種安裝方式，一種是 patch 然後編進 kernel，一種是編譯成 module，不用兩種方式全部都用了。

2. kernel 裡面要編進去兩三個東西，在 INSTALL 裡面有寫
我記得是 hotplug firmware loading (好像是叫這個吧),
還有 CRC32 和一個 encrypt 的東西

3. gcc 的版本是多少？ INSTALL 裡面如果有寫的話，應該是建議用 3.x 的版本，如果沒有寫，也請使用 3.x 囉

環境也是testing,
不過kernel-2.6.8是用apt升級的,
第2.所述的也都有編,
請問只要安裝ipw2100就行嗎?還是ipw2100-fw也要一併安裝?

ipw2100-fw 也要安裝
先apt-get安裝 hotplug 套件
然後把 ipw2100-fw解開
解開之後，把那三個 .fw 放到 /usr/lib/hotplug/firmware 裡面

還有我於/ipw2100下使用#make
卻找不到/lib/modules/2.6.8-1-686/build
請問此資料夾或檔案(bulid)該如何產生?

會不會是少裝了 kernel source 這種套件的關係？
我沒有用 apt 升級過 kernel ，不太清楚
不過 ipw2100 的 INSTALL 裡面有寫
編譯的時候可以加上 kernel source 的路徑
也就是說，如果你 kernel source 放在 /usr/src/linux-2.6.8-1
編譯的時候可以下：
make KSRC=/usr/src/linux-2.6.8-1

ipw2100-fw應該是沒什麼問題?

但ipw2100還是不行,
仍然是找不到build資料夾或檔案,
指令改成kernel source所在處也沒用,
真奇怪......這build不知是哪來的?
我查看2.4.20裡也沒有這個build.....怪哉!

build 要你自己編譯的 kernel 才會有
我不確定 ipw2100 是不是一定要 kernel source 才能編譯
不過我的 kernel 是自己編的，後來再編 ipw2100 都沒碰到什麼問題

ipw2100已安裝成功,
但當我啟動網卡時卻又 No such device

不知為何又找不到裝置?

你如何啟動網卡的呢？
我只要 modprobe ipw2200; iwconfig 就找到了
對了，我之前也是試了 ipw2100 好久，最後才發現我是用 ipw2200 的

但#iwconfig
卻找不到該網卡?
