I've just install ubuntu( 4.10 )y and now i'm serfing the net in the new system.
the chinese views better than debian. i'm quite happy, but problems are creatintg too !
1: you see, i cannot input chinese. the dist don't include anyone. but when i connect the internet to get fcitx or scim, i can't connect the england mirror. i can say sorry!
2: now i'm serfing the net, but it is too slow!! usually, above 100KBps is not so bad. but now, it is nearly the same as a modem. why?
while installation, i didn't select the " IPv6 ". is this the reason?
3: the most important of all, in the configuration part of installation, i could not see the simplified chinese, and it seem that it did not ask me to enter the root password, before i added a newuser!!
while i login, i cannot run "mkdir /mnt/temp", and the root desktop is far away from me!!
why?
