Dear All :
I have installed Samba on Woody .
However I find some strange problem on printing sharing with Windows XP and 2000.
I have setup the following printing share on Samba config file :
[printers]
browseable = yes
writeable = yes
printable = yes
path = /var/tmp
comment = All Printers
public = yes
It is working fine on Windows 98 . (i .e. I can create and print on this printer with out problem.)
But when I try to run on Windows XP and 2000, I can browse and add this printer with the "Add printer" function in Windows XP and 2000 succefully.
After that , When I open this printer. I got the following error message form the Windows Printers window:
Access denied, unable to connnect
Of course , the print job can not be send to the samba, but why it is working fine on Windows 98 ? Am I missing something on smb.conf ?
Anyone have the same problem and the solution for it ?
Remark :I am using the same login account on windows 98 and XP. The file shareing on the samba are working fine on windows 98, XP and 2000 with out problem. Only the printing got this problem.Will it be the Woody samba problem ???
