program MENU to lunch applications in text terminal mode

Remember the old day in DOS, there is an application call 'DOSSHELL" or PCTOOLS which allow us to add the command in the program MENU to run DOS applications with out typing command in the DOS prompt.

The close Linux like application is MC but it does not let us to add a MENU to select applications to lunch ( like program MENU in dosshell ).

Are there any Linux application allow us to have a program MENU to lunch applications in text terminal mode ?

It will be very useful for Linux server because we may not run Xwindow on Linux server. We use remote terminal to access the server normally.

Any info ?

Uh.
Maybe you can try web-based tools?
You still do not need X and can administrate your system easily.

However, I think that text-based command line is the best method fot administration.

What command or what work you want to add to MC?
Maybe others can help you find an easy way.
