mysql server問題

請問一下：
我剛裝完mysql-server，要啟動mysql時卻發生無法啟動的狀況！
下面是系統產生的訊息！

Starting MySQL database server: mysqld...failed.
Please take a look at the syslog.
/usr/bin/mysqladmin: connect to server at 'localhost' failed
error: 'Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/var/run/mysqld/mysqld.sock' (2)'
Check that mysqld is running and that the socket: '/var/run/mysqld/mysqld.sock' exists!

請教一下問題事出在哪裡？
我看過的確是沒有mysqld.sock存在！
可是要怎麼讓他產生呢？

你沒有正確啟動mysql當然無法connect
檢查一下你的syslog吧
看有沒有一些錯誤訊息
