RedBoot + uClinux on IXP425

有人有玩過嗎?
能給點 idea 嗎?
有點給它玩不下去.....
尤其是 uClinux 部份...

自個來說一說好了.......
uClinux is limited to MMUless microprocessors.
But, IXP425 has a MMU.
so UClinux must be patched with some libraray from intel.
unfortunately, I can't find patched files from intel web site.

And now, I use snapgearlinux intead of uClinux.
It has ported on IXP425 sucessfully.
So, I study it now... and hope that I can port it on coyote board by myself.

既然有MMU, 為什麼還要用uClinux, 就用linux kernel就好啦?!

yes,
snapgear have uClinux kernel and linux kernel.

我記得 uClinux-dist-20030522 裡 就有支援 IXP425 囉
snapgear 的 base 也是 uClinux-dist

若你想拿標準的kernel來編譯也行, 你需要一些 patch 的動作
stdandard kernel
rmk-patch ftp://ftp.arm.linux.org.uk/pub/linux/arm/kernel/v2.4/
ds-patch ftp://source.mvista.com/pub/ds-patches/2.4
ps. ds-patch 只有到2.4.19
若你是用 2.4.21 的 kernel

Did you finsih the porting of uClinux on IXP425?
I have an application which requires fast move data from Ethernet port
to SDRAM and from SDRAM to PCI bus.
I just wonder whether ucLinux is a better choice than Linux.

I really doubt that you can't find any information about IXP425 in uClinux .

It has been used wildly ...
