<p><strong>Debian Stance on the SCO Allegation.</strong> It was <a
href="http://lists.debian.org/debian-project-0305/msg00056.html">asked</a> <a
href="http://lists.debian.org/debian-project-0305/msg00063.html">twice</a>
last week whether the <a
href="http://www.sco.com/scosource/complaint3.06.03.html">allegations</a> of
SCO, formerly know as Caldera, a GNU/Linux-oriented business, affect the
Debian project. Ray Dassen <a
href="http://lists.debian.org/debian-project-0305/msg00058.html">explained</a>
that the issue so far consists of allegations and rumors from a company that
is far along the way to obsolescence. They have yet to produce anything that
could be remotely considered evidence, while there have been concrete
indications of SCO itself violating the GPL by the inclusion of GPLed
filesystem code from the Linux kernel into its proprietary (Unixware?) kernel.
A detailed <a href="http://www.opensource.org/sco-vs-ibm.html">analysis</a>
was released earlier by the Open Source Initiative.</p>

<p><strong>【Debian 針對 SCO 發表之侵權主張的立場】</strong> 上週
<a href="http://lists.debian.org/debian-project-305/msg00056.html">兩度</a>有人
<a href="http://lists.debian.org/debian-project-305/msg00063.html">問到</a>
SCO (原名 Caldera，一家以 GNU/Linux 為經營方向的公司)所提出的侵權
主張是否對 Debian 有影響。 Ray Dassen <a href="http//lists.debian.org/debian-project-0305/msg00058.html">解釋</a>說，
目前只有來自 SCO 這家快過氣的公司單方面的主張和謠言，他們現在還未能
提出任何有力的證據。相反的，有確鑿的證據顯示 SCO 本身違反了 GPL，他們
從 Linux 核心引用了以 GPL 授權的檔案系統程式碼到其私有的 (Unixware?)
核心。不久之前 Open Source Initiative 發表了對本事件的

<p><strong>Constitutional Amendment.</strong> Manoj Srivastava posted this <a
href="http://lists.debian.org/debian-devel-announce-0305/msg00010.html">formal
proposal</a> to amend the Debian Constitution to introduce Condorcet/Clone
Proof SSD vote tallying in elections and general resolutions. The proposed
changes are a result of the hard work of an election methods committee. The
proposal received the necessary seconds and the official <a
href="http://lists.debian.org/debian-devel-0305/msg01286.html">discussion
period</a> ends on Friday May 30 23:59:59 UTC 2003.</p>

<p><strong>【Debian 憲章修正案】</strong> Manoj Srivastava 公佈了
一份修正 Debian 憲章的<a href="http://lists.debian.org/debian-devel-announce-0305/msg00010.html">正式提案</a>，
提案將 Condorcet/Clone Proof SSD 投票納入票數計算。
修正案的內容是根據選舉方法委員會研議的結果。這份提案獲得了必須的覆議，
並將持續進行<a href="http://lists.debian.org/debian-devel-0305/msg01286.html">正式的討論</a>
直到2003年5月30日結束為止(Friday May 30 23:59:59 UTC 2003)。</p>
