【信任網路的可信度】 在最近 [6]Debian Conference 期間，Martin
Trafft[7]進行了一個金鑰簽署[8]實驗來凸顯 Debian 信任網路的問題。這個
網路由 GnuPG 金鑰間的簽章組成，這表示簽署人有理由相信這個金鑰的所有人
真的是他所宣稱的那個人。然而，簽署人並沒有檢查政府發放的身份證的合法與
否，這在有 140 人之多的國際活動中，有各種不同的身份證，並不容易做到。

【停止 Woody 的安全支援】 Debian 計畫[9]宣佈在 Debian GNU/Linux 3.1
也就是 sarge 釋出一年多後，對舊的 stable 發行版 3.0 的安全[10]支援將在
2006 年六月底終止。Debian GNU/Linux 3.0 或稱 woody 是將近四年前在 2002
年七月十九日釋出的。

【增進 Debian 的知名度】 Andreas Barth [11]表示過去曾有一些偏頗的
Debian 新聞在流傳。這些新聞記者似乎從一些給 Debian 開發人員看的文章中
擷取並撰寫容易令人誤解的訊息。Andreas 希望能改進這個情況，或許可以透過
讓新聞記者直接跟我們的開發人員電話連線。

【Debian Conference 6：火熱、辛辣、努力工作】 Robin Miller [12]報導今
年的 [13]Debconf 讓接近 300 個 Debian 開發者、套件維護者、和其他相關人
員湧入墨西哥。許多工作都致力於讓 Debian 更貼近使用者。Holger Levsen 和

重複安裝用的預先設定檔案，和如何用 USB 碟進行最小量自訂安裝。她還繼

【Debian IRC 移至 OFTC】 Debian 計畫[17]宣佈 irc.debian.org 已經 設定
為 [18]Open and Free Technology Community (OFTC) 的別名。這次的移動主
要是因為了解到已經有許多的討論是在 OFTC 進行。OFTC 是一個 Debian 的姊
妹組織，同樣受到 [19]Software in the Public Interest, Inc 的贊助和支持
。Debian 計畫曾使用 [20]Freenode IRC 網路數年。

【失效的 Release Architecture 資格】 Andreas Barth [21]報告大約有三個
CPU 架構原本被 Debian [22]sarge 支援，但是現在已經無法滿足留在
[23]etch 中的條件。一些 [24]m68k 的系統仍然只能使用已經不被支援的 2.2
或 2.4 核心。[25]s390 的版本缺乏足夠數量的開發人員。[26]sparc 則是缺乏
核心的支援。非常歡迎對這些版本的幫忙。

【新的 Debian 選單結構】 Bill Allombert [27]提出一個新的 Debian 選單結
構，由 Linas Zvirblis 設計。少數分類被重新命名，並產生一些新的子類別來
反應大量的新應用程式。該發人員應該檢查自己的套件選單是否仍然適用新的結
構，並因應調整。

統上的郵件，除非被 /etc/aliases 重導向過，是否安全。Wouter Verhelst

【輕量級 Debian 桌面】 Andre Luiz Rodrigues Ferreira [31]開始在準備一
個桌面的 meta package，針對舊機器上的桌面應用。他[32]收到了一些改進
。Joey Hess 想要將這個[33]加到 [34]tasksel 裡面去，這樣 輕量的桌面選項
可以在偵測到系統無法執行 KDE/GNOME 時自動安裝。

【重整 New-Maintainer 程序】 Marc Brockschmidt [35]提議更嚴格的要求準
維護人員，需要第二個推薦者，並且在申請前要準備更多維護套件的經驗。這樣
申請者在申請時可以更深入了解 Debian。他也建議把上傳權限、系統帳號、投
票權等分開，這樣可以說是要重整 Debian 計畫。
