總是command not find

一般來說
在LINUX裝了什麼程式
啟動檔不都在/etc/init.d/下
要暫停程式 啟動程式
只要進去/etc/init.d/ XXX start
之類的就好了
可是為什麼我在debian裡
我在那裡執行 總是出現
-bash:XXX commad not find
第二個問題
安裝vsftpd後
雖然可以連上 ftp也有在跑
可是init.d在裡不管我要暫停或是重新啟動 都是
500 OOPS: vsftpd: cannot open config file:restart
怎麼會這樣？

to the first question.
after changing directory to the folder where the programme resided, did you use command such as './programme-name'? normally there should have ./ in front of the command (or programme), indicating that the search path started from the currently directory.
