有人在用kernel-2.6嗎?

如題,有人目前是以2.6為主嗎?
可不可以請有用過的人分享一下經驗呢.....

小弟換成2.6用很久了...

但是nvidia/vmware都要自己另外patch...

速度上其實差異也還好...用reiserfs會有一點小問題...

就是partition的空間還有60%，但卻無法繼續寫入檔案，用ext3/xfs都正常。

要不是因為kernel-2.6支援弟的電試卡，不然我還不想換呢...Nvidia的patch竟然編譯不起來...之前的patch可以...

不知道lucent modem的driver是否有支持2.6 kernel，小弟的是一台laptop，而且只能用modem拔號上網

那我來試試看debian內建的，奇怪了，我抓的是同一個網站的2.6的patch，但編譯的時候會出問題，等一下試試看debian內建加patch試試看。

弟編譯過,能正常使用呢...Haoto兄有什麼錯誤訊息呢?

另外...兔可槽,我覺得ATi release的driver反而沒Xfree來的穩定及好用...

昨天下載了kernel-2.6.0-test4的source來編譯
這是我grub的設定

代碼: 選擇全部

title 2.6.0-test4

initrd /boot/initrd.img-2.6.0-test4
boot


結果boot到一半,出現

RAMDISK: Couldn't find valid RAM disk image starting at 0.

VFS: Cannot open root device "0307" or unknown-block(3,7)
Kernel panic: VFS: Unable to mount root fs on unknown-block(3,7)


就停下來了
請問是那裡錯了呢?

因為vanilla不支援cramfs for initrd.img，所以請取消掉initrd.img的支援，並將fs直接編譯到核心，不然請改用romfs for initrd.img...

但改用romfs的時候，還需要修改/etc/mkinitrd/mkinitrd.conf中的MKIMAGE的選項

這各 pretty_name實在一點都不pretty...我有patch過了，但還是死在這邊，要看patch修正的地方了。

我也是看的不清不楚，所以也沒改了，patch之後依然無法編譯。

unstable有kernel-source-2.6.0-test4可以抓了~~
這樣就可以用nvidia的driver了
已經make成功且使用中
