想要用framebuffer console + XWindow

我在NB上跑XP裝VMWARE+Debian
在非全螢幕模式下我希望console設定成800x600
這樣子好看也方便使用，所以會用到framebuffer
但是如果用framebuffer，我的Xwindow結束的時候
都會當在以下訊息

請問有沒有辦法用framebuffer但是xwin可以正常的呢？
（好吧，我知道執意做這種事有點蠢^^"
畢竟可行的替代方法很多，但就問問囉～）

不是很了解您的問題... 我現在的 NB 其實就是跟您的狀況一樣 ( XP + VMware + debian ) 然後我 debian 裡頭的 X Window 也是調成 800x600 一切運作都很正常... ..

您的問題是 X Window 起不來 ? 還是 800x600 mode 無法啟動 ?

我在console mode下開啟framebuffer模式，並設定為800x600的解析度；
也就是說在lilo.conf裡面設定vga=788
在這樣的情況下，進入X Window沒有問題（1024x768)
但是要出來X Window的時候(wmaker的離開)就會當住
如果不開framebuffer，那麼進出都很正常

請問有解嗎 ？？

* 開啟 framebuffer 的目的是 ? 執行 chinese console ?
* 當住是死當 ? 還是 ctrl + alt + backspace 可以跳出 ?
* /var/log/XFree86* 的紀錄檔有任何相關訊息 ?

不好意思^^" 這兩天考試沒時間回應moto兄

* 不開framebuffer會覺得console鈍鈍的，比如說捲動
以及文字模式的對話框畫的很慢
執行zhcon不需預先開framebuffer，進去沒問題:)
* 死當，不過是在ctrl + alt + backspace之後
* 就我的觀察是看不出有甚麼錯誤^^" 不過還是貼出來請你看看

另，先開framebuffer則X Windows開啟時間似乎比較短

可以看看 XF86Config 中...顯示卡所使用的驅動程式
然後把 vesa 置換掉...

就如同下面 "nvidia"的位置
nvidia 是我另外編的...kernel 中沒有...所以我才用 vesa

有關 mtrr ....kernel 的 Documentation 有寫..

processor access to memory ranges. This is most useful if you have
a video (VGA) card on a PCI or AGP bus. Enabling write-combining

before bursting over the PCI/AGP bus. This can increase performance
of image write operations 2.5 times or more. Saying Y here creates a
/proc/mtrr file which may be used to manipulate your processor's
MTRRs. Typically the X server should use this.

若沒裝 kernel source 則可直接裝 kernel-doc-2.4.xx, xx 是你的 kernel number
