sata 安裝 debian 手記

安裝測試的版子為

GIGA-BYTE: GA-8I865PE-L (865pe)
GIGA-BYTE: GA-8S655TX URTAL(655tx)

intel ich5 南橋(難橋)篇

woody vs intel ich5 (no raid)

bios 可以設為 pata 安裝 woody ok ,系統當成是 hda 看待

kernel 升到 2.4.18-6 可正常開機進到 OS

若是把 ich5的 sata 功能當成 pata 來用 則任何一種 dist 應該都是可以正常安裝執行

在 woody 升級到 testing/unstable 並換 2.4 && 2.6 kernel 開機皆失敗 出現

此時 biso 中依舊是把 sata 當成 pata 使用

其中在2.6.3 kernel 出現 ata-piix 應該是認出 ich5 chip

但是還是 kernel panic: Attempted to kill init! ...........

只剩下 woody的 2.4.18-6 可以正常開機

跟 intel 不同的是 不確定新的 2.6.3 kernel 可以抓到 sis 的 964 chip

總歸還是 kernel panic !!
