裝不到sound driver

我是c-media cmi-8738 的on-board sound card的
可是debian本身好像並不支援
只支援舊的版本
在官方網站找到支援linux的drivers好像沒有說支援debian啊
那我可以怎樣做呢?

kernel版本是2.4.18-bf24

# modprobe cmpci

但是好像和它支援的版本不同
用不到...

cmpci: found CM8738 adapter at io 0xe800 irq 11

modprobe cmpci

就可以用了，可能要確定別的問題窩，或是bf24不支援。

請問如果bf24不支援的話得怎樣做?

抓別的kernel-image回來就可以了。

是否apt-cache search kernel-image
然後apt-get install 要安裝的image

就可以呢?

yes...小弟是用kernel-image-2.4.18-k7就可以抓到音效卡了。

but still..xmms can't play anything..

after modprobe cmpci, do i need to reboot?

but every time i reboot, the module will disappear and i have to install it again..

vi /etc/modules or something like this
add a line
cmpci
save it
and you better read
man modules or something like this to learn what modules is , and how to configure it

xmms said,

Couldn't open audio
Please check that:
1. You have the correct output plugin selected
2. No other programs is blocking the sound card
3. Your soundcard is configured properly

先測試一下音效卡確定有驅動。

先將一個wav檔案使用以下方法測試

cat xx.wav > /dev/dsp

看看有沒有聲音，有聲音表示驅動成功，如果沒有，還要另外偵錯

可能還要 check 一下 permission 喔! 沒記錯的話, 要使用 /dev/dsp 的 id 要加到 group audio 中....
