Can't install GRUB in MBR!

I am using sarge-i386-netinst.iso to install Debian. But when the process come to setup GRUB on my WD 160GB S-ATA HD. It stopped every time! It always stop at 50% on GRUB MBR setting. But when I install Fedora3, there's no problem to boot HD. Please come somebody help me! My mainboard is Asus P4P800, 2.4GHz CPU, 512 Ram. And I am going to setup 3 kind of OS in my HD(WinXP + Win98 + Debian). So, if anyone knows what the problem I have. Please tell me! THX + Dolby!

之前的 Grub 要 boot Win32 有點問題, (現在不知好了沒)
其實你如果只要用 XP 98 Debian, 建議用 lilo 即可...
lilo 的文件和資源也多, 遇到問題也好解決...

我只有玩 Hurd 時用 Grub, 後來換了準系統, Hurd 不支援我的網卡,
就回歸 lilo 的懷抱了...

Debian 安裝時可跳過 Grub 直接只裝 lilo, 新手建議裝在 MBR...

I found the reason eventually. Because /sbin have to be selected in the setup menu. If you forget that, you couldn't install lilo or grub at all.

不需要啊...我從來沒選過什麼 /sbin, Grub 用得好好的

我也是用grub
比lilo好用多了
若沒辦法安裝可以先用grub-install --recheck /dev/hda先去check
會跑出一些訊息不用擔心
Ctrl+c
之後再用grub-install /dev/hda即可
這是我試過的方法
