請教前輩們幾個英文的意思

Forward half line feeds
單就字面上來看叫做前半列換行 ????
什麼意思啊?
另外一個英文是
reverse line feeds
扭轉換行?????
可以請哪位前輩幫我解釋說明這兩個到底有什麼不同嗎?

ps:其實就是因為英文破，所以想要試著去翻譯一些指令的說明，剛好今天看到col的使用，試著要翻譯，但是看到這兩個字眼就實在是不知道該怎麼樣做了....真的看不懂...(苦笑...)請各位前輩幫忙...要是各位前輩願意幫忙，爾後小弟有時間的時候就會慢慢的翻一些指令說明出來，當作訓練也當作給英文破的朋友們一個簡易學的資訊.....

ESC-7 Reverse line feed (escape then 7).
ESC-8 Half reverse line feed (escape then .
ESC-9 Half forward line feed (escape then 9).
backspace Moves back one column (8); ignored in the first column.
carriage return (13)
newline Forward line feed (10); also does carriage return.
shift in Shift to normal character set (15).
shift out Shift to alternate character set (14).
space Moves forward one column (32).
tab Moves forward to next tab stop (9).
vertical tab Reverse line feed (11).
