這樣子才算 OverTheSpot 哦：
（請注意到，輸入法的視窗是跟著遊標在跑的）

　

您的貼圖（很明顯得）那個 OverTheSpot 的視窗是固定在 Firefox 的左上角，
不算符合 OverTheSpot 這種輸入法的本意。

這是 Mozilla 家族的共同問題，
所以 Mozilla/Firefox/Thunderbird 需要加以修正才算真正得支援 OverTheSpot。

那個不是 OverTheSpot，是 OnTheSpot。
也因為 xcin OnTheSpot 支援不好，當使用 xcin 時，用 OverTheSpot 是比較好的 Input Style。

如果像小弟一樣使用 SCIM，OnTheSpot 是長這樣的：

就像微軟新注音那樣輸入。

另外，
如果某一個輸入法同時支援 OnTheSpot 及 OverTheSpot 時，
Firefox 似乎會自動選擇使用 OnTheSpot 模式...

mozilla-firefox 的 Debian Maintainer 已表示他們願意採用那個 Patch 了，
敬請靜候佳音...

今天 sid 中的 mozilla-firefox 更新了，
但依然沒有加入這個 patch。

不知為何，
覺得有點累了...

事情有稍稍的進展了，
這個 Patch 已經進入 Debian 官方的 Mozilla 1.7.6-1 了。（不是 Firefox 哦∼∼）
而其它的則還在努力中…

後來發現 firefox 1.0.2 會 coredump，現在有最新的 fix，麻煩 update 一下。

Really, the answer here has to be to fix input methods support OnTheSpot
input. OverTheSpot in XIM is tied to antiquated methods of font
selection (font sets) which are not supported by GTK+-2

OverTheSpot is basically a hack to make the user think that they
have OnTheSpot with a bit less complexity in the application.
But that hack depends on it being possible to match font and
color between the application and the input method, which is something
we can't do with GTK+-2.
