[高原之狼]

我平時用簡體中文，所以平時雖然經常來這裡看看，但是很少發文章。最近正在給學校的兩台機器安裝 Debian，所以很想把過程紀錄下來， 貼在這裡。

但是不知道 moto 學園是否支持簡體中文，即使支持，也不知道大家看著習慣不習慣。我平時在 Debian 下時可以用 xcin 輸入繁體，但是實在是不大會用，速度也很慢。這個帖子是用 Windows 下的微軟拼音繁體輸入的。

如果簡體中文不合適，不知有人知道什麽好用的繁簡轉換軟體嗎？另外，大家對全英文的帖子怎麽看？

好久不見啊! 早些時候我也想過這個問題...其實 iconv 這隻程式
就可以很方便的做簡繁轉換工作..

在摩托學園主站 (http://linux.nctu.edu.tw/web/moto) 大多都是
純文字的 html 和 text 檔，因此理論上寫個 script 搭配 iconv
應該是可以把百分之九十幾的 data 轉換過去..不過純理論啦..一直
沒有時間來實作..

至於討論區(http://moto.chuany.net)這邊可能就比較複雜了因為
這邊牽扯到中文 ( 簡、繁 ) 輸入問題...原則上都是可以輸入..而
phpBB 也會原封不動將原來輸入的資料(簡就簡、繁就繁)的存入 MySQL
裡頭...但是這樣會有很大的問題...資料混雜..會造成使用者 ( 簡體朋友
跟繁體朋友 ） 的困擾...這部份我在找找看 phpBB 有沒有現成的 module
可用...如果沒有的話..可能得自己手動修改 phpBB 的 code 去攔截使用者
輸入..判斷 encoding 然後以統一的 encoding 存入 database，相同的讀出
的時候判斷需要的 encoding 在做適當的轉換...

呼呼..我想這是大工程...以我目前的狀況恐怕是沒時間來作..我還是先
找找看有沒有現成的 Module 可用..

似乎對於多國語系的顯示都沒有問題耶...

不過個人是比較喜歡看繁體中文啦...
雖然簡體中文字基本上還看得懂，
但是有時候會看到眼睛好痛...
所有的簡體中文文件因此我都把它轉成繁體中文再歸檔說。

因為 http://www.phpbb.com 掛掉了..我打算抓簡體中文包.
這樣對使用簡體的朋友來說..應該就很 user friendly 囉..

So , If you change the encoding to big5 and then can you type gb2312 words into this page by using chinput or xcin ?

If this happen and then people using Simplified Chinese can change their web page encoding to big5 to join our discussion.

看來 moto 兄的猜測是正確的，現在的論壇只支持 Big5 encoding，其他的 encoding 下輸入的東西就是原樣放入數據庫里而已。

demon 兄大概是看到了亂碼吧，在網葉（這個詞是這麽寫的嗎？）設置為 Big5 encoding 下時是這樣的，如果把 encoding 強行轉換為 GB2312，就會發現所有其他的發言都是亂碼，而只有我那兩條 GB2312 的發言可以識別了。8-)

由此可以猜測 phpBB 的内碼還不是 Unicode 的，所以大概不會有太好的多國語言支持。

To moto: I think I misled you. All my test was done in Windows enviroment. When I said encoding, I meant the encoding of my web browser (I am using mozilla 1.4alpha by the way), not the locale in Linux.

Windows 2000 (Simplified Chinese version) actually has very good input method. I can choose either simplified characters or traditional characters, but both of them is in GB encoding. In fact this is GBK encoding (Windows codepage 936), which has all the simplified and traditional characters. I believe that if I change my default language to Traditional Chinese, I will be able to input all characters in Big5 encoding as well. (One thing I am not sure: Does Big5 encoding include simplified characters? Since in mainland, the encoding standard was GB2312, which includes simplified characters only; Later Windows extended it and made the GBK encoding, and became the de facto standard for Simplified Chinese. (Ironically, GBK encoding has never get the endorsement of mainland government. And the government now are enforcing a new standard -- GB18030. But I haven't seen any real application yet. And I think that standard is compatible to GBK, although I am not sure.)

In Linux the basic thing is like this: I can input traditional characters in zh_TW locale (using xcin), as well as simplified characters in zh_CN locale (using chinput), but I have never managed to input both in one locale. So inputing is really quite a headache. And that's is one of the main reasons I am still using Windows.

I'll try to test the simplified character input in Linux later. I remember that xcin has some way to input them, though I am not sure about its encoding.
