[新聞]有關 Linux 2.5 和 Debian 的 KDE 套件的訊息

剛剛在 Slashdot 看到的，最新版的 Linux 同時啟動或者是停止 100000 個 thread 只需要兩秒鐘。另外 O(1) scheduler 也已經整合進 2.5 囉。看到越來越多功能整合進下一世代版本的 Linux，真是令人期待。

Debian is currently moving from GCC 2.95.4 to GCC 3.2.1 as the default compiler in Sid. Due to the changed C++ name mangling scheme and ABI, all C++ code compiled with GCC 2.95.4 is binary incompatible with C++ compiled with GCC 3.2.1. This means that all C++ code must be recompiled in Sid. As this is a large undertaking (there are about 900 C++ packages in sid, 223 of them are KDE) it has been decided to wait until we see how the transition will work before uploading KDE into sid.

原來 Debian 準備將 compiler 直接跳到 GCC 3.2.1，所以許多 C++ 的套件進度都受到影響。不過看到將以 GCC 3.2.1 為主，也是一件蠻令人興奮的消息。

YA!!真希望kde3.1會以gcc-3.2.1的build一起來到Debian，效能一定很讚呢！！
