前幾天就看到這篇，不知道為什麼這裡沒人討論

我測試結果，還不錯喔！！
要拿 debian 當 desktop 的可以很快速的安裝完成
一安裝完就有 X window 中文介面，使用我最愛的 Gnome 2.8。
還沒詳細測試，明天玩完再上來 po 吧。

使用 Ubuntu Linux，20 分鐘就可以安裝好完整的 Debian X window 中文環境

不需選擇套件，安裝完成後就有 zip, xvncviewer, xsane, xpdf, w3m, tsclient, smbclient, rdesktop, pppoe, openoffice.org, esound, fam, gaim , gdm, cdrecord, gnome, gftp, xchat 等一般 desktop 用戶常用軟體，提供完整的桌面環境
hotplug, hdparm, lftp, pppoe, screen, vim 也都是標準配備
改為使用 postfix 為 MTU

透過 apt，依樣可以安裝 debian 的所有套件，非常方便
Ubantu 也有自己的 apt source
剛剛透過 Ubantu 的 source list，也更新了幾十個套件

剛剛安裝完成後，完整的中文環境獨缺 xcin
把 sources.list 中幾行 uncomment 後
apt-get update;apt-get install xcin xfonts-intl-chinese
再到 /etc/X11/Xsession.d/ 中加上執行 xcin 的檔案
並到 /etc/environment 中把 LANG 的值從 zh_TW 改為 zh_TW.Big，以及設定 XMODIFIERS 等變數，從 gdm 登入就可以有完整的中文環境了。

要以 Debian 為 Desktop 的人，不能錯過喔！

哪位兄弟知道启动过程中出现的"Trying lp modules........."中"lp"是什么玩意?

I just installed ubuntu warty (28th Sept 2004) and uncommented two lines regarding "universe" from my /etc/apt/source.list, however, neither xcin nor xfonts-intl-chinese can be found when I do "sudo apt-get install xcin xfonts-intl-chinese". This is what I get:

$ sudo apt-get install xcin
Reading Package Lists... Done
Building Dependency Tree... Done
E: Couldn't find package xcin

What should I do to have xcin properly installed in ubuntu ?


Any help would be greatly appreciated.

在 /etc/X11/Xsession.d/ 中加上 51xcin
當案內容如下

代碼: 選擇全部

export XMODIFIERS='@im-xcin'
/usr/bin/xcin &


/etc/X11/Xsession.d/ 裡面的檔案會依照檔名前兩個數字而排序，以 source 方式執行
若前兩個不是數字，就不會執行了
詳細可以看 /etc/X11/Xsession 的內容

謝謝大家的協助，現在不能開啟xcin問題解決了
問題的癥結出在：
~/.xinitrc
我本來在最後一行寫 "icewm"
後來改成 "icewm-session"，所有的問題都迎刃而解了

你們用的ubuntu都是從http://www.ubuntulinux.org/下載的嗎?

我下載了之後卻在安裝base system上有錯誤....
說無法下載某個檔.....可是應該是用光碟安裝就好了吧

請問各位前輩知道原因嗎?

我也裝上 ubuntu，感覺還不錯。我的 ATI 9200 完全不用設定就安裝完成了。對於推廣 Debian 到一般 Windows 用戶上應該很有幫助。但有一些小瑕疵，如重開機後的文字安裝畫面沒有辦法顯示中文。以及套件庫內的套件似乎不夠多等。

想請教一個問題，我想安裝 java-package, graphviz 等套件，似乎只有 unstable 裡有。可否在安裝玩 ubuntu 後就升級成 unstable 呢？我嘗試這麼作，但是兩者間的 X-Window 套件版本似乎有點差異，不太敢貿然行事。可否請各位大大給點建議～
